We found a beautiful civil war battlefield a stone's throw from our house (Fischer's Hill) today on a very spontaneous adventure. It turned into a great history lesson though my visions of hiking were lessened by the hot September sun. Also many things arrived to live with us last week Aunt Josepha and a dozen chicks are joining the domicile. Zita dreams of fresh eggs for breakfast wile downing her oatmeal.

Please tell Angelica that Mrs. Turner saw a frog today in the rain by the back door and ....yesterday we had a big black BEAR run through our front yard! There's never a dull moment around here!
