Some pics. . .

Well as promised to Annie, here is a picture of my current obsession, wool. Since I have yet to get knitting down, I have taken to buying wool sweaters at the thrift store and making them into things. Last winter I made the girls little wool long johns and this winter with a baby due I'm pretty much going nuts. I modelled these after a super cute pair I saw made by the German clothing manufactuer, Disana, who makes tons of cute little wool clothes for babies and children.

Wool is really amazing stuff. It is the ideal material for baby clothes because it keeps babies warm in winter and cool in the summer. Apparently the lanolin in it acutally kills bacteria and so a baby in a wool diaper cover or wool pants over a cotton diaper, actually can't have any nasty bacteria on their little rumpus. I just lanolized these overalls today after I made them so once they are dry they will be ready to go.

Our good friends, the Storks visited us from out of town the other day and they just had their fourth baby, named Zita. So here are the two Zita's united for the first of hopefully many times. I can't beleive I am lucky enought to know two Zitas. Wow.

Lastly, so as not to be behind too much here is the baby at six months along. Last trimester here we come!!!

First of all those overalls look AWESOME for someone who doesn't really have knitting down yet. :o)

Those Zitas are adorable.

And so are you! I must accept that I do not make an adorable pregnant woman. Alas! I simply don't have the right build. But you and Annie and Sarah are just wonderfully beautiful prego women!!

You don't look as big in that picture as you did in your beach picture. I might be changing my mind and thinking you're having another girl. Do the Storks have any boys?

I loooooooooove your overalls!!! I still haven't made it to the Goodwill, but I hear it calling my name every day...

Storks have one boy, Joseph, about Zita's age. I actually look huger in general than I think that picture makes me look. It is that shirt. It is VERY forgiving.

I know. I am thinking another girl too at this point.

According to some statistical data (who knows from where, I can't remember these things), if your first two are girls, you have a 70% chance of having another girl for number three. If your third is a girl, it's like 90% that your fourth is a girl, and then it resets for number five.
I LOVE your overalls. Did you use any sort of pattern? I'd love to see what you used. Too cute.

I cut up a woman's cashmere sweater and the top part up by the straps is actually the neck, since it was a turtleneck. I didn't use a pattern, just put a pair of newborn pants up under the neck and guestimated. But I did get my inspiration from these.

Just scroll down the page till you see the cute little white overalls. Too bad these clothes are so expensive because I just drool over them all the time.

I am going to freak here, but:

I LOVE WOOL, I LOOOOOVVVVEEE IT.

perfolds, or fitteds, and wool are perfect for diapering.

The only thing that sometimes bothers me about recycled sweater longies is the (perhaps) lingering drycleaning chemicals? But if washed on hot to felt one might hope that all of this stuff is gone?

And my girl is a testament to the 30 per cent chance of a girl after 2 boys.

Pawpaws all around!

It's a cute shirt though! Mama and I had thought that the top of the overalls was the bottom of the sweater--a thick ribbed bottom edge, you know? But the NECK! That is very clever.

What do you think I'm having, judging by my belly pictures?!??

I love those wool overalls! What a great idea to make things out of recycled sweaters! I enjoy knitting... but I have so many things to knit that it would take forever. If you ever want lessons/helo... let me know. Buy the Stitch N' Bitch book. The name sounds off color but it is by far the BEST knitting book I have come across. I love wool... it doesn't stink! The best thing about being pregnant (and for me there were only a few "best things") is how crafty and creative you become.

LOVE the overalls!! I have a wool sweater that has been sitting in my sewing basket begging to be transformed, but I've never had the courage . . .
