Blogger is having "technical difficulties" right now for Mac users using Safari. So looks like no pictures from my computer right now. Instead I'll post a picture from somewhere else in Cyberspace.

So this is a picture of someone else's beet kvass. I made some too this week and have been drinking it to cleanse my liver and scare my neighbors. It also looks really cool on your window sill.

Say it with me now. BEET KVASS!

Anna! Why in Heaven's name would anyone need to cleanse his liver!!! My liver has been just trudging along, serving me well and never once have I "cleansed" it. My liver thanks me for that. Your liver, on the other hand, curses your name. Cleansing your liver indeed!!

Well now, the dirty little secret is I actually LIKE drinking beet kvass, liver or not.

You have to think of it as a "salty drink"

Hmm, I've never tried beet kvass but I do like kombucha. Although I never got brave enough to try making it myself either. Which beet kvass recipe do you use? Does it taste much like regular beets? I like them, love their smell, although no one else in my house does. Here in the great Northwest, we have had our crocuses come up a couple weeks ago and then they were all pelted to death by the rain. Well, the bleeding hearts are coming up next and I always look forward to those. No forsythias in my neighborhood I can see--though the plum and/or cherry trees are in full bloom now. I can never remember how to tell them apart since the ones around here are fruitless.
